Sometimes, you find yourself in a situation where you need to code on a Windows computer and only have an Apple USB keyboard on hand…

I have found a way to get the Apple keyboard layout working on Windows. (It’s easier on Linux. Seriously!)

Required files

Procedure

  1. Extract the file
  2. Run setup.exe
  3. Click on the keyboard icon in the taskbar at the bottom right and select “Parralels Keymap”
  4. Although the instructions on the website only mention Parallels, because it was originally built for that virtualization platform I assume, but this also works on a regular Win7 system.
