macOS keyboard layout in Windows
Sometimes, you find yourself in a situation where you need to code on a Windows computer and only have an Apple USB keyboard on hand…
I have found a way to get the Apple keyboard layout working on Windows. (It’s easier on Linux. Seriously!)
Required files
- parralels_keymap_de.zip (Don’t be surprised about the name)
- VirusTotal Result
- SHA256:
d989229beb74d93348afc2cedad9c5c6f7d4805d46c7289e25a89fec39876e04
Procedure
- Extract the file
- Run setup.exe
- Click on the keyboard icon in the taskbar at the bottom right and select “Parralels Keymap”
- Although the instructions on the website only mention Parallels, because it was originally built for that virtualization platform I assume, but this also works on a regular Win7 system.
