I was standing in the hallway, looking at the cat, the cat looking at me, when the old power brick of the LED strip next to both of us decided that it was time to share its magic smoke with the world…

What made it so special was the sequence of events that followed; The power brick went “poof”, a split second later the breaker loudly tripped down the hallway behind us, which in turn caused the uninterruptiple power supply in the server room on the other side to audibly switch to battery mode and start alarming.

True, non-played-back, surround FX. And it felt like it took way longer than it did due to the adrenaline.

The cat sadly was startled and unable for assistance over the next minutes, while I EOL’d the device and brought up electricity again.
